Get ready, Space Cadets, because the queue inside of Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin appears to be under refurbishment. Let’s head on in and assess the current state of Star Command Headquarters.

Normally, attractions close for a brief refurbishment period for work such as this, but given how popular and how high-capacity the 1998 attraction still is, it appears they’re making the updates while keeping it open.

Construction walls are now up around the FastPass+ and Standby queue merge point, with temporary queue railings now in place throughout.

Worst of all, the light-up interactive Star Command Console that was recently replaced has been removed. You can still see the outline of it along the floor.

The button panel had gone missing sometime in June of 2018, only to return later this year. This may not come as much of a surprise, but Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin has had a permanent section on our WDWNT Weekly Maintenance Report since its inception. That being said, any and all updates to the attraction are much needed.

Given that the Star Command Console was recently refurbished, it’s likely that it will return to the area once work is finished. For now, however, the attraction needs to maximize queue space as much possible given the reduction in square footage.

No end date is set for the refurbishment, but we’ll keep checking in on Space Ranger Spin to track progress on all of these updates.
