While we were hopeful that the murals inside of Mickey’s Star Traders would survive the refurbishment, it appears that they have been painted over a muted tone of beige.
The murals had long since been a part of the store’s design, which is now under refurbishment. So far, the teal beams have received metallic paint to match the new, vaguely modern futuristic style of the Tomorrowland store.
The windows that allow guests on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover to peer into the store are still shuttered while work progresses on the store.
For reference, here is what the Stitch mural looked like prior to the refurbishment.
What do you think of the new look for Mickey’s Star Traders? I’m still mourning the loss of the Mickey sign outside.
The mural will now appear seasonally.
It looks bland. I hope they do more theming.
