REVIEW: New “Frozen 2” Blueberry Lemonade Mickey Macaron is a Shareable Winter Treat at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

We have been getting into the spirit of the holiday season by snacking on some of the latest Frozen 2 inspired treats to hit the parks. Roaring Fork over at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge has introduced a new sparkling treat, and it’s even Mickey-shaped! The giant blueberry lemonade macaron has caught our attention for many reasons, not just the edible glitter glimmering in the bakery case.

Who doesn’t love Mickey-shaped food? The shape of this macaron has already given it a few extra credit points. The color is stunning and the snowflake sprinkles and glitter are the perfect touch. Now that we’ve determined that this is an adorable and perfectly Instagrammable dessert, let’s find out if it’s any good.

This thing is huge, but it is $6.99. You could easily share this giant snack. The macaron is layered with a thick layer of blueberry lemonade filling that looks like frosting. When we took a bite, we were surprised at the tart flavor. At first, it tasted like a blue raspberry or tart cherry, but we were told it was blueberry lemonade. It’s got a fruity, sweet taste, but it’s very tart. We didn’t really care for the flavor, and would have preferred something different, but we’re sure a lot of people will enjoy it.

The inner cookie is unbelievably good. It’s a bit chewier than you’d expect, and even though it may not be the most authentic macaron ever, it’s not bad. I found myself eating the outside part alone when the filling became too much. This giant macaron was much better than we expected.

It’s a sweet treat that’s beautiful and perfect for celebrating Frozen 2. If you’re heading to Wilderness Lodge soon, this blueberry macaron would be a great snack to share. There are plenty of other great Frozen 2 treats around the resort (including my favorite Olaf Dole Whip Slush at Disney Springs), so if a macaron isn’t your style, we’re sure you’ll find something else to satisfy your sweet tooth. Enjoy!
