They’ve ditched the red food coloring this year and brought Prep and Landing back for this adorable themed cupcake.

Beneath the decorative wrapper, you’ll find a normal cupcake wapper, which should make eating this easier than the tear-apart ones.

A dense gingerbread base is piled high with buttercream, sprinkles, a merinugue snowflake, and a chocolate Prep and Landing piece.

Interestingly enough, the icing on this cupcake is whipped, making it lighter than normal buttercream and giving it an almost marshmallow-y consistency. While the gingerbread flavor is mainly brought forward by the cake base, it’s accentuated by a creamy, dense, custard-like filling. It’s a decidedly sweet cupcake given all of the frosting, but if you’re a fan of tons of frosting, you’ll love this.

I will say this is one of the more unique counter service desserts we have encountered in our travels, and it’s just as pretty as it is interesting. Chocolate chestnut cream may not be for everyone, but we thoroughly enjoyed this mousse-like dessert over chocolate cake. It comes with a bed of praline bits that ends up a sweet, nutty crunch. Another winner in this year’s holiday dessert lineup.
