Work on the Magic Kingdom’s new entrance enhancements was buzzing with activity today. We stopped by to check out the latest work on the various aspects of the project.

The new boat dock, once the quietest area of the project, has suddenly come to life with activity.

Large equipment has arrived on-site, and workers were starting the process of connecting the dock area to the upcoming pathway that connects Magic Kingdom to Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

Most notably, you can now see the framing of what will be used to pour the new retaining wall for landscaping leading up to the monorail station. With this, we now have a visual representation of how wide the area will be for pedestrians.

From the ground, we can see where wide sections of new pavement have been recently completed. Each time the walls are moved back, more red concrete is revealed.

From above, we could see workers feverishly attending to one of the two large tree planters that will frame the entrance to the park’s turnstiles.

Work is progressing on the sister planter to the right.

We can finally see how large these planters will be, thanks to retaining walls that were finally poured.

The construction work on the new security screening area for the bus drop off has also progressed.

Workers attached siding and roofing materials when we passed by this morning.

A look through the structure reveals the extent of the new pavement on the other side.

The pavement work is starting to progress further and further each time we visit, which means walls may start to move again soon.

Stay tuned while we continue to monitor the latest on the Magic Kingdom entrance enhancements.
