We recently saw new futuristic lights go up at the future World Discovery area of EPCOT, and now walls and fencing are down in this area, fully revealing the light fixtures, as well as new birdhouses for Walt Disney World’s famous Purple Martins. Each year, Purple Martins travel to Walt Disney World Resort to raise their young before flying more than 6,000 miles to the Brazilian rainforest and back… That’s certainly a lot of traveling, but it’s worth it to be at EPCOT. Now, let’s take a closer look at the newly-revealed walkway expansion:

Currently, only hedges block off the entrance closest to the open guest walkway, with some fence and scrim still up along the back portion.

This pathway looks out over to The Odyssey pavilion.

Also along this walkway is the new Wall-E themed Green Landing Family Play Zone.

It is rumored that this area may open tonight for additional New Year’s Eve fireworks viewing. We’ll keep you updated via social media if that is the case!
