We’re up bright and early at The Friar’s Nook in the Magic Kingdom not for tots (okay, maybe for some tots) but for a full-on breakfast menu that’s just been rolled out in anticipation of the heavy holiday crowds. These breakfast offerings are available now through January 4th, so if you’re planning an early morning at the Magic Kingdom, you now have some tasty offerings to enjoy and start your day off right.
Breakfast is available starting 30 minutes from park open. With a 7:00 AM open today, the Friar’s Nook was open and ready for business at 7:30 AM. You’ll notice below that there are doughnuts on the menu… these are apparently made in-house as they were still waiting for them to rise! Breakfast––and only breakfast––is available until 11:00 AM.
The short, yet well-comprised menu features a Breakfast Sandwich, Sausage and Gravy Tots, and Cinnamon-Sugar Doughnuts.
In order to properly fuel a full park loop, we got all three.

Cinnamon Sugar Donuts – $4.99

We’ll start off with an overall: everything is delicious. The donut holes you can smell as soon as you receive them. They’re coated with delicious cinnamon and sugar, and plenty of it. The donut interior is really good, too. We were actually surprised at how fluffy and fresh they were! These were far better than the donut holes from the Donut Box, which debuted at this year’s EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival.
At first, we thought it was kind of a small order, as there are only five (5) donut holes for the price, but they’re actually really nice quality, so we’d probably go for them again. (In fact, we can confirm that after eating a leftover donut hole while writing this a few hours later, these are still very, very soft, pillowy, and delicious.)
Sausage and Gravy Tots – $5.49

These tots are better than they have any right to be. Even with the gravy getting cold and congealed after so many photos, it retained its strong, rich flavor.
These tots are extremely comforting, and perfect for a cold morning at the Magic Kingdom. They aren’t drowning in gravy, so the tots stay crispy. It’s a simple snack of just tots and gravy, but we highly recommend them if you like sausage gravy, or are looking for a morning twist on tots.
Breakfast Sandwich – $8.79
Bacon, egg, and cheddar served on a multigrain croissant with tater totsÂ
We didn’t know what to expect from this sandwich, but if you’ve ever tried any of these multigrain croissants on property, you’ll know they’re pretty delicious.
The crunchy, nutty croissant here takes a lowly breakfast sandwich and elevates it to the next level.
If you’re picky about your egg sandwiches, you’ll be pleased to know that the egg patty here is also cooked perfectly, with the soft eggs pairing perfectly with the bacon and cheddar. Our only complaint is that the bacon could’ve been crispier, but overall, the flavors still worked. You also get a side of fresh, hot tots to round out the sandwich, making it a full morning meal.
Overall, we’re very impressed with the flavor and execution of all of these dishes, so much so that we hope they consider keeping these options after January.
