Star Wars Overlay of Disneyland’s Space Mountain to be Removed During January Refurbishment

A galaxy far, far away is going away after it was announced that Hyperspace Mountain, the Star Wars overlay of Space Mountain, is getting removed. During a refurbishment starting on January 7th, Space Mountain will be restored to its pre-Star Wars state.

According to the OC Register, officials at Disneyland stated that the attraction would only be down a few days to remove the overlay. Hyperspace Mountain will be one of a host of attractions at Disneyland closing on January 7th for refurbishment, including “it’s a small world” and Snow White’s Scary Adventures.

Hyperspace Mountain originally debuted for a limited run on May 4, 2019, but was extended multiple times after the Star Wars fanfare at the park swelled due to the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
