Single Rider Coming Next Month to Big Thunder Mountain at Tokyo Disneyland

Single rider lines are often a blessing to solo travelers, as I often find myself to be. Tokyo Disney Resort currently features three attractions that offer single rider: Splash Mountain at Tokyo Disneyland, and Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Crystal Skull and Raging Spirits at Tokyo DisneySea. Not a lot, compared to other Disney resorts. But after several months of sporadic, unannounced testing, it appears a fourth will be joining the ranks: Big Thunder Mountain!

According to Cast Members at the attraction, Big Thunder Mountain will be joining the single rider ranks starting in January 2020! Indeed, another victory for solo travelers like myself, braving the horrors of weekend and school break crowds! Like at other single rider attractions, Guests will enter through the FastPass line and receive a paper ticket. After proceeding through the line with other Guests, they will board the attraction and hand off their single rider paper ticket.

Tokyo Disney Resort is massively popular, and Guests here are willing to wait 1-3+ hours for an attraction. Plus, FastPasses are massively competitive now that the app allows all Guests to obtain FastPasses remotely. Thus, the often-overlooked single rider lines are a massive blessing in such a landscape. The only other confirmed addition right now is the upcoming The Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast. Until then, we’ll keep you posted.
