It’s time to check in on one of the most exciting upcoming attractions at EPCOT. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will be Disney’s first backward-launch roller coaster and will include spinning ride vehicles. We decided to take a trip on the monorail to get the best view of how work is progressing at the construction site. Let’s take a look!
Since our last update, more sections of the exterior walkway’s concrete have been poured.
The walkway sections alternate shades of light and dark concrete, just like the colors of the attraction’s building.
It seems different colors of concrete will be used to make some sort of design — similar to the area further out from the attraction (which we’ll come back to in a moment).
More concrete was poured at the front entrance to the attraction.
Building materials lay throughout the construction site. Materials on the building’s roof haven’t moved in weeks. From the attraction’s concept art, this seems this area will be home to a blue and yellow Star Blaster, with space for fencing.
Directly in front of the show building, a new design has been framed out with the concrete.
At the rate concrete work has progressed in the past few weeks, we believe this exterior walkway work should be complete soon. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is set to open in 2021.
