On our spin around EPCOT on the monorail today, we saw some exciting updates at the site of the future Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind attraction. Let’s take a look and see what’s happening.
Much of the concrete on the side of the building is completed, with just a few gaps left here and there. As we speculated in our last update, the concrete is in two different shades, giving the walkway a striped effect.
A few patches of concrete are still left to be completed, as can be seen here.
Further out in front of the building, we can see wood framing and rebar have been laid out for more concrete in front of the ride building itself!
Disney makes pretty quick work of concrete pouring, so we expect to see this section of the project finished up in the next few weeks.

Anyone figure out why they are pouring the concrete 12″ thick and putting rebar on 6″ centers with two layers? This area is is being built like a bank vault and is way overbuilt even for Highway standards.
