PHOTOS: Guests Redirected to Temporary Exit as Construction Continues at the Transportation and Ticket Center

If you’ve been through the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) on your way to Magic Kingdom lately, you most likely noticed the massive amounts of construction happening in the area. While new security screen areas have been added, guests now have a long walk around construction walls to reach security. All of this construction at the TTC is in an effort to enhance Magic Kingdom’s arrival experience. While we provided you with a construction update on the TTC a few days ago, we noticed an important change onsite today.

Guests can no longer exit the TTC by Mickey’s Gift Station. Instead guests are being redirected back through the security screening area to the right (in the direction of the Polynesian Resort). Guests then use a marked exit between two of the security screening structures.

Construction hedges now block the exit by Mickey’s Gift Station.

A single sign directs guests to the new exit. We noticed a lot of people missing this sign, leading to confusion about the exit’s location.

Even with the ongoing construction, Mickey’s Gift Station is still open. Once through the new exit, guests have to turn to the left and walk back the distance of the security screening area to reach the store.

The underpass entering/leaving the TTC has also been affected by construction. Half of the underpass is barricaded off, leaving guests to travel on the temporary metal walkway bridge.

Fresh pavement has been poured for what will be the new walkway in the area outside of Mickey’s Gift Station.

The construction at the Transportation and Ticket Center seems to be ever-changing, so we’ll be keeping an eye on it. Keep checking WDW New Today for construction updates on all of the projects happening around Walt Disney World Resort.
