Until February 14, the splashing Grizzly River Run whitewater raft ride at Disney California Park is undergoing refurbishment. We stopped by today to check on the progress.
As we approached, we saw the Grizzly River Run grizzly bear peeking out and still there to greet us.
The ride has been tamed, as it is totally drained for what looks like replastering work. We imagine this attraction takes a lot of wear and tear, so we’re glad to see the upkeep.
This is an older look at how the ride looks in operation. So we imagine after the plaster base is painted, detailing will be added to make the attraction more realistic and reflective of the California wilderness.
Back at the worksite, a small group of workers touched up the plaster surrounding the course.
Looking toward the right of this photo, you can see some materials on the ride course, as well.
Unless something changes over the next couple of weeks, this refurbishment looks like it’s purely maintenance. But we’ll let you know if we see any new additions! Keep checking WDW News Today for the latest.
On Wednesday, February 26, 2020 I was looking at the geysers at Grizzly River Run and noticed the geyser pool and streams filling it were all muddy. I informed a cast member then noticed about an hour later that the ride was shut down and has been all day Thursday and so far today (Friday). I have photos of the mud.
