It’s a zip-a-dee-refurbishment-day at the Magic Kingdom, as Splash Mountain is now closed off and partially drained ahead of its annual refurbishment period.

With cold temperatures in Orlando today, not many guests will bemoan the loss of the log flume ride, but we sure hope you got your drops in before the closure, as it will be off-limits for a few months.

The brambly areas at the base of the mountain have been mostly drained.

All along the sides of the attraction’s wood-carved fence in Adventureland are construction walls and scrim-lined fences.

Signs inform guests that Splash Mountain is closed for a spell, but to rest assured that they’re fixin’ to make a splash again soon.

Annual refurbishments like these are usually just an attraction-wide refresh, and as of publishing time, no changes have been listed as coming to the attraction.

While Splashdown Photos is currently closed, the Laughing Place Play Area is still open for guests.

The refurbishment is expected to last through February 27th, with the attraction reopening on February 28, 2020.

  1. My family was there during the holidays and there were several missing animatronics including Brere Rabbit where he hops along the scene. Also missing and not working was Brere Frog in the waiting line… Like it wasn’t there.
