We’re getting closer to the start of the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, which means it’s almost time for the debut of three new films at the park! Over in The Land pavilion, Awesome Planet is now glowing with the blue-green hues of our home planet Earth. The new wait time sign that was installed last week now acts as a video screen, with various breathtaking views of mountains, forests, islands, and more. The 3-D printed sign is now fully backlit, offering the dim corner of the Harvest Theater entrance some much-needed light.
Currently both signs are on at Awesome Planet. The first previews were held during yesterday’s media event, where it was revealed that Ty Burnell (of Modern Family) was the host and narrator of the new show. Cast Member previews are scheduled to take place on Thursday.
The wait times sign shows a variety of stunning landscapes all flowing in unison.
“Awesome Planet” in The Land pavilion will explore the spectacular beauty, diversity and dynamic story of Earth. Featuring an original musical score from Academy Award-winning composer Steven Price and in collaboration with the Disney Conservation Fund, the 10-minute film uses in-theater effects (including wind, scents, and water) to tell the story of life on this planet and why it’s vitally important to care for it.
