Construction continues on the new security area in front of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. But since the two formerly separate structures were joined earlier this month, visible construction progress seems to have slowed.
Let’s first address the maze you can expect upon arrival to the park. When arriving via bus, you’re in for quite a walk if you arrive at one of the south bus stops. You’ll get some extra steps in as as you navigate around the tall green scrim. When coming in from parking via the tram, you’ll also have a few extra steps.
All the scrim hides construction on the upcoming security structure. Since our last check-in, shiny new metal has been added to the roof. The cinderblock walls don’t seem to have any new additions.
Here’s another view of the structure. As you can see, it’s very large! Here’s hoping it leads to shorter lines at security. Hopefully, we’ll get a peek soon at how the structure will be themed.
When leaving the park, you get to take the same detour back to your transportation mode of choice. With all the scrim blocking visibility, those unfamiliar with Disney’s Animal Kingdom are sure to appreciate the extra signage directing them to tram loading zones and other transportation options. Like we said, it’s very maze-like right now.
