We’ve been spending a lot of time at EPCOT lately, eagerly anticipating the opening of the new Space 220 restaurant. Unfortunately, we still don’t have an official opening date, so we’ll just have to keep waiting. While visiting Mission: SPACE, we noticed that more painting seems to be happening around the entrance of the attraction. This could possibly be in preparation for the new restaurant, or just some much needed maintenance. Either way, we’re hoping the new paint fits in with the purple moon.
As we approached the attraction, we noticed portions of the wall without paint and blocked off by queue ropes. As we got closer, we noticed only the front of the walls were missing paint.
The back side of the wall, and the top, both still have paint.
We can also see the old paint inside the detailed outlines on the walls.
This might just be getting a fresh coat of paint to match the surrounding area, but we’ll be keeping an eye on it.
So many changes are coming to EPCOT, and it’s nice to see some maintenance happening around some of these older attractions, too. We’re hoping these changes around the exterior of Mission: SPACE are a good sign that Space 220 is getting closer to opening. Be sure to keep following WDWNT for the latest updates on Space 220, EPCOT, and the rest of Walt Disney World.
