While visiting EPCOT today, we noticed what appeared to be a Cast Member staring at the moon. Not the moon in the sky, though. The moon which is located directly at the entrance of the Mission: SPACE attraction at EPCOT, looked a little different than we remembered. The bright purple coloring caught our attention, leading us to stare at it as well.

Here’s a look at what we saw today. From what we overheard, it sounded like the coloring might not have turned out as expected. It is just a tad bit extreme.

We’ve being anxiously awaiting Space 220, so we’ve been hanging around EPCOT a lot lately. Here’s a photo from January 27, 2020 for reference. The moon looked a lot more gray last month. With a new restaurant opening soon (hopefully!), we’re not surprised that fresh paint and touch ups are being added around the attraction.

We have a sneaking suspicious the color may change again, but for now, you can get your photo with a bright purple moon at EPCOT. We’ll be watching the moon, and the rest of the solar system, around Mission: SPACE for even more changes. What do you think of the new purple moon?
