It’s not a special Disney event if it doesn’t have exclusive treats, and that goes for the Disney Villains After Hours 2020 event as well. For the event this year there are six different themed villain treats, and we’ll be snacking our way through all of them. First up for the night is The Diamond in the Rough Slush at Tortuga Tavern.

The Diamond in the Rough – $5.99

Themed around Jafar, the classic villain from Aladdin, this is a mango slushy with nutmeg and cinnamon, topped with whipped cream and a dark chocolate diamond. (We know the sign says sugar but this was definitely hollowed out dark chocolate.) Upon looking at the treat, you can make the connection to Jafar with the slushie being within his same color scheme, and I doubt Jafar would say no to having a diamond that big.

As far as taste goes, this slushie was just okay. The mango was very tart and we didn’t get much cinnamon flavor, it was more of a hint. The whipped cream and dark chocolate diamond were easily our favorite parts of this drink.

While this slushie was thick and sweet, we don’t think this float is a great February drink. However, since this event runs until July 10th, 2020, it may be better in the spring/early summer months.
