As part of the arrival experience enhancements at Magic Kingdom, work continues on several projects and pathways around the area. Today, we stopped by to see the latest improvements at the various sites.

As we passed by Grand Floridian, work on the pathway that will connect the resort to the Magic Kingdom is in full swing. This retaining wall will be where guests can begin their walking journey from the resort to the park.

Work on a small bridge to cross this canal is also progressing, with construction barriers lining the work site.

As guests approach the site of the bridge over the main canal, the structures are starting to take shape at either end of the pathway.

Crews were on site this morning on both sides of the canal.

The bridge is currently in its closed state, with the base having been poured on one side and frames up on the other side for new concrete work.

Over at the boat dock for the Magic Kingdom, work continues on the expanded area. The latest iteration of the concrete retaining wall has been poured with new support beams being framed as well.

Work on the structure that will house the security screening checkpoint for guests arriving by boat from various resorts is starting to move forward. The large black frame rises above the green construction walls and is now clearly visible to anyone arriving to or leaving the park.

Over towards the pathway that will lead to the Contemporary Resort, work on a new planter continues to progress.

Paving here is also moving forward, with a new retaining wall structure being poured.

  1. When someone is being mean on Twitter, tell them to be like the Grand Floridian and the Magic Kingdom pathway; to build a bridge and get over it!
