Disneyland Resort Now Only Accepting Reservations for June 1st and Later; Special Resort Room Offer Issued For Guests With Cancelled Bookings Due to Coronavirus Closures

After the announcement extending current Disney Parks closures “until further notice” due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Disneyland Resort has now announced that they will only begin accepting reservations for travel dates starting June 1 and later.

The following update was listed on the Disneyland Resort’s COVID-19 landing page:

Do note that Disneyland Resort here reiterates that all theme parks, hotels, and the Downtown Disney District are currently closed, and that a reopening date has not been identified. The key wording here is: “As always, Guests are able to modify these bookings if the Disneyland Resort opens before or after that time.” So clearly, after Friday’s vague announcement, whether or not Disneyland will remain closed until June 1st is still undecided.

In order to provide guests with alternatives to a full cancellation, most guests with prior reservations that were impacted by the temporary closure are being extended a special offer for discounted rooms:

The special offer is bookable starting today, March 30, and is only eligible for arrivals most nights June 1 through December 31, 2020, when booked by May 31, 2020.

The offer is only valid for guests who booked a room reservation to stay at a Disneyland Resort hotel during the dates that the Disneyland Resort theme parks are closed, and through May 31, 2020. The offer is not valid for reservations cancelled before March 1, 2020.

It seems this is the first of many more Disney offers and incentives to come in the wake of these unprecedented extended closures. In Walt Disney World, guests are being lured back in with a Free Dining offer.
