Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway to be Excluded from Extra Magic Hours Offerings at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Nothing can stop us now! I’ll tell you how… Well, except for park hours and attraction schedules.

While Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway is already offering a much simpler way to experience the attraction thanks to its offering of both a Stand-By queue and FastPass+, for Walt Disney World Resort guests looking to have exclusive access during Extra Magic Hours, the attraction is not slated to be offered during that time.

This follows the same pattern of not having brand new attractions on the EMH roster for the first few months after opening. Another recent attraction to open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, is also not available during Extra Magic Hours. Extra Magic Hours at the park have seen a schedule shift to take place almost exclusively in the evening, to avoid confusion with the already hectic rope drop procedures where all guests must obtain a Boarding Group to ride Rise of the Resistance (or, starting tomorrow, get in Stand-By for Runaway Railway.)

Stay tuned to WDWNT to find out just when the attraction will be available during those extra hours for resort guests.

  1. Now that makes no sense…..
Understandable that ROTR isn’t active during EMH:
1 — It needs as much maintenance downtime as possible
2 — With the boarding group system, it would be really difficult to segregate EMH-eligible guests from off-site visitors who got a BG in the morning.

But if they are offering Runaway Train FPs from day 1, it suggests that they are confident it won’t have extensive downtime. And that leaves no reason to exclude it from EMH evenings, unless it’s a cost savings or crowd control measure.

But with limits of 1 tier 1 FP of the 3 major attractions, and the difficulty getting those fastpasses even at the 60 day mark… You really want to take the possibility of EMH ridership away from guests???

Guess on EMH night, the plan will have to be to hop into line for Runaway train right before regular closing hours. Then try to do Slinky and Falcon during EMH.
