The Refreshment Port, a year-round kiosk at EPCOT, has debuted some new menu items for the 2020 EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival. We’re most interested in the new popsicle trio, which should be a great treat to cool us down today.

The Fried Green Tomatoes come to Refreshment Port in 2020, having previously been at Arbor at The Gardeners Terrace. The everyday Traditional Poutine and Beef Brisket Poutine are still offered during the festival as well.

Fried Green Tomatoes with Blue Crab-Fennel Salad, Remoulade, and Smoked Paprika Oil – $6.25
These fried green tomatoes are topped with blue crab-fennel salad with remoulade and smoked paprika oil. The sauce has a fantastic flavor that’s bold and seasoned well.
On the other hand, the crab-fennel salad was just average. It wasn’t bad, it wasn’t good, it was just… there.
The tomatoes themselves were really good. They were fried very well, with a crispy, well-seasoned coating. But all in all, the dish as a whole isn’t something we would really recommend.
*NEW* Popsicle Trio: Honeydew, Raspberry-Mint, and Coconut-Lime – $5.00
The trio comes with coconut lime, raspberry mint, and honeydew melon.
There are tiny slices of melon with the honeydew one, but they don’t do much to enhance the popsicle.
There’s a sprinkling of mint on the raspberry one. The raspberry had a stronger, more intense flavor than the other two.
The coconut lime was possibly our favorite of the three. This and the honeydew popsicle were a little lighter in flavor, which was refreshing.
Overall, it’s a nice variety of three unique flavors for the price. Be quick to eat them, though, as the Florida sun isn’t kind to them.
*NEW* Short’s Brewing Company Starcut Ciders Squishy Hard Cider, Bellaire, MI (6.3% ABV) – $11.25
From Starcut Ciders: “Squishy is a semi-sweet Fruit Cider fermented with Michigan apples, Northern Michigan Balaton and Montmorency tart cherries, and English Cider yeast. Ruby red in color with appealing sweet aromatics, this cider’s initial flavors of dark fruit shift toward a bold tartness that dries the palate between tastes.” It’s rated between medium and semi-sweet on their sweetness scale.

We love the Refreshment Port at EPCOT, but we love it a little more when it debuts new items for the food festivals that take place throughout the year at the park. Did you like the new items for this year?
