shopDisney Subscription Boxes To Be Suspended Due to COVID-19 Impacts

With the Disney Parks and Disney Stores all across the world temporarily closed due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the idea of a regular box full of magical merchandise arriving on our doorsteps sounds like a perfect relief right about now. shopDisney offers three different subscription boxes for guests young and young-at-heart which would definitely brighten up any mailbox in these difficult times, however it has been reported that all three services are due to be temporarily suspended, due to the impacts of the virus.

According to Laughing Place, the shopDisney website – which is currently still showing and promoting the boxes as usual – will remove the option for new purchases starting Tuesday, April 21. Current subscribers will be contacted with information on how the pause will affect their subscriptions, and shopDisney will be issuing more information on when the boxes will be resumed. At the time of writing, the site is still advertising a May delivery of each box as usual, but if you were considering subscribing, you might want to hold off for the time being.

shopDisney offers three different subscription boxes to guests: the Disney Bedtime Adventure Box and Disney Princess Enchanted Collection for younger fans, and the Disney Backstage Collection for adults. The global impact of Coronavirus for The Walt Disney Company has been immense for weeks now, and we’re saddened to see it hit the merchandise sector so badly. It was back in February that Disneyland Paris reported that new pin releases were to be delayed due to manufacturing suppliers in China being impacted by the virus, so perhaps a similar issue has occurred here with the subscription box contents.

I have a backstage subscription, according to the Disney email I got the shipment will be delayed.

Wherever you got this report, it’s wrong. My next subscription for the Backstage program shipped out. No month skipped.

It was an email from Disney, but my package has shipped as well. I think they were just covering their bases.
