Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel Opening Delayed; Booking Cancellation Options Now Valid For Stays Through October
Disneyland Paris guests have been eagerly anticipating the opening of the Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel since the original Hotel New York closed its doors for renovation back in early 2019. The refurbished hotel, which is set to be a gallery showcasing the amazing artwork behind the Marvel Universe, was set to open its doors for the first time on June 15th, 2020. However, the unforeseen extended closure of the entire Disneyland Paris resort due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has cast a shadow over the opening of the highly-awaited hotel.
It has now been confirmed that the hotel will not be opening on June 15th as planned, and the Disneyland Paris website has been updated with new terms and conditions to help guests who have reservations booked. Now, all reservations up until October 31st are set to be cancelled, with two options for reimbursement. Guests can choose to receive a full refund for the package amount, or be issued with a same-amount voucher, redeemable against any Disneyland Paris hotel within 18 months.
For guests booked to stay at the hotel from November 1st onwards, Disneyland Paris are assuring that the reservations remain confirmed, and an email announcement will be made if the situation evolves. However, the resort will be granting a flexible modification policy, where guests can make changes to existing resort reservations without charges.
Whilst the current guidance states that Disneyland Paris will remain closed “until further notice”, cancellations are only being issued to guests with stays at other resort hotels through July 14th. Because of the pandemic, construction work on the Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel was suspended, and so it could remain unclear for some time as to when guests will finally be able to explore the newest hotel.
