So you’ve made every parks recipe, read every Imagineering book, and sewn a plethora of face masks by now, but it’s time to kick your quarantine crafting game to the next level with this tutorial by Foolish Mortal Builders. These talented builders have created their very own MagicBand readers just like the ones at Walt Disney World. Using just a few electronic parts like a Raspberry Pi, a RFID/NFC reader, and a 3D printer, you can put all those MagicBands you have laying around the house to some fun use. With a few changes to the python code, it can even play different sounds or display different colors based on the unique RFID of each MagicBand.

  1. One of the items for the build is a Raspberry Pi. Isn’t that what made the Runaway Railway go runamuck?

    • I’m not sure it’s ever made clear what the flavor is, but nevertheless, I see what you did there. *smirk*
