Disney Releases Which Resort Activities Will be Available When Resorts Reopen

Today, Disney released a slew of new policies and guidelines regarding the reopening of the Walt Disney World Resort after a long closure due to COVID-19.

With those updates came the information that Stormalong Bay, one of the most popular pools on the entire property, will not immediately be reopening with the Disney Yacht & Beach Club Resort.

Other feature pools on the property will be operating under reduced hours and capacity to allow for social distancing, and poolside activities may still be available.

As far as other special offerings or childcare options that won’t be available are: the fireworks voyages, such as the Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage, or other tasting cruises. Fun runs, the Wonderland Tea Party, Hula lessons, in-room childcare, the mermaid school, and other special classes and programs will be unavailable at the immediate reopening.

Of course, continue to follow along with WDWNT as we continue to cover the reopenings of the Disney Parks and Resorts around the world.

  1. I think that I’d have more fun in 2020 watching old Disney YouTube videos than actually attempting to go there in person. These rules are out of control.

  2. What is the purpose of canceling the feature pool of a resort but not the other pools at the resort? At this point it is clear Disney is just trying to get people to cancel their reservations. This has nothing to do with safety. That is sad. They’re hitting a grand slam right now at taking the magic out of Disney.

  3. Sounds like a fun time.. not! WDW has gone and lost their minds if they think people will pay for a full on ticket with half the fun while enforcing people to suffocate under a mask all day in thAt heat! I also heard that people with WDW reservations may also not get into the parks either! Like wtf? Even universal takes into account how many greats they have staying in the resorts and assured them they are guaranteed entrance to the parks! Unless Disney gets rid of these extreme measure, they’re only going to have annual pass holders running around. Hope that’s enough to keep them up and running!

  4. Recently there have been articles stating that for the initial reopening, every DVC hotel pool will be open minus Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Beach Club resort. I’m appauled at this news. For the last 16 years that I’ve owned the Vacation club we have spent two weeks at Disney’s Beach club resort every summer. Specifically because of the amazing pool. Unlike most other guests, we spend everyday enjoying the resort luxuries. Once again, this year we are vacationing at the Beach Club starting on June 28th. Then find out that we will be restricted to the quiet pool was completely uncalled for. If us hotel guests are limited to resort only activities, because the parks are closed, we should be able to access all resort pools and ammenites or atleast have that option for those guests who only stay at that resort because of the pool. At that point why bother using the points to stay there when I can use much less at another resort who’s main pool is open. Disney is all about social distancing at this time, and yet they are restricting their guests to a small pool in a singular area when we could all be much safer spaced out at Stormalong Bay.

  5. I understand the need for Disney to end the $$ bleeding. This is going to damage the brand way beyond Mickey’s expectations. Sky high prices can only be rationalized when the overall product experience is complete and as has been the case generally, delivered in superior fashion. Writing WDW off from West Florida until Fauci-Fear and that of social media subside.
