Topolino’s Terrace at Disney’s Riviera Resort Will Host Only Character Dining at Walt Disney World Upon Reopening

As you may be aware, Character Dining has been discontinued for the reopening of Walt Disney World, but there is one place where you’ll be able to dine with the characters, albeit modified: Topolino’s Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera at Disney’s Riviera Resort.

The following update has been released on the Walt Disney World website:

Dining Experiences

Additional changes to Walt Disney World dining experiences include:

  • Menu items may vary. For specific menu information, check the restaurant’s online menu when the restaurant reopens.
  • Character Dining will not be offered during the initial reopening, with the exception of a modified Character Dining experience at Topolino’s Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera.
  • Dinner shows will not be offered during the initial reopening.
  • Dining locations will be limited in capacity. Some locations will remain temporarily closed.
  • Private dining and in-room delivery will not be offered during the initial reopening window.
  • Mobile order service will be offered at select quick-service dining locations throughout the Walt Disney World theme parks (when open), Disney Springs and select Disney Resort hotels.

As we’ve seen at Shanghai Disneyland and at Universal Orlando, character meets take place at a distance. The restaurant may ask guests to stay seated as characters travel through the space, stopping occasionally for photos.

They better had eliminated the Mickey and Pals aspect, because this was never meant to be another Mickey and Pals meal on Disney property, once regular character dining resumes, they’ll have to replace Mickey and Pals with those from Pinocchio
