NBA Board of Governors Votes in Favor of 2019-20 Season Resuming in Orlando

It what has been a thrilling series of stories starting back in April, the NBA has been approved to finish out the 2019-2020 season in Orlando.

In a recent tweet from both Adrian Wojnarowski and Scott Gustin, the the formal vote to continue out the season from the NBA Board of Governors has been approved.

Tomorrow a conference call is in place for the NBPA’s players to vote on this matter as well.

The teams would start to travel to Orlando around July 7, with the season starting by July 31. The last possible game would be on October 12, which is the scheduled date for Game 7 of the NBA Finals.

Although Disney has yet to officially comment on this approval, it seems very clear that the NBA will be coming to the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex to continue their season. However, the official Sports Center Twitter account posted a clip of the opening montage to Walt Disney Picture films with the text “The NBA is back”.

The matter of lodging for the teams, players and crew has been up to speculation recently of which Disney Resort they would be staying at. It seems the likely choice will be Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort will be the primary host resort for the NBA at this time, according to Keith Smith.
