It was recently announced that no Ample Hills Creamery locations will be operating at Walt Disney World in the near future. This came as a shock, considering that a new location was supposed to open at Disney Springs and was already under construction. The Ample Hills Creamery at Disney’s BoardWalk Resort closed with the rest of Walt Disney World back in March, and never reopened. Today, signage was removed at the location.
Most of the windows to the former ice cream shop have now been covered with opaque screens to hide the interior.
Over by the entrance, a cream-colored tarp has been hung where the shop’s marquee once was. You can still make out the hand-painted ice cream cone in the lower right-hand corner.
On the sides of the entrance, the hand-painted ice cream ads remain, but these are likely to be painted over in the coming days.
Over on the right side of the restaurant, some windows remain uncovered. Inside, the actual ice cream shop has yet to be broken down, and is still as we saw it earlier this week.
A new replacement for the location has yet to be announced. What would you like to see take its place? Let us know in the comments.
Sad to say goobye to Ample Hills but Salt & Straw could be a good replacement.
Indoor Seating for the bakery would be awesome
How about an authentic Jersey shore salt water taffy/homemade confectionery shop? Didn’t the Boardwalk have one a few year back, albeit a bit underwhelming?
Or, how about something high-end like an authentic gelateria or another Ganachery location? I’ve always been a bit disappointed the Italy pavilion in Epcot doesn’t have a store-front gelateria!
I’d like it to be replaced with… an ice cream shop. Perfect location on the boardwalk.
