Greetings from Disney’s Animal Kingdom! Today, we’re checking out the new safety measures at Kali River Rapids.
Social distancing markers have been set up throughout the queue.
With FastPass+ unavailable for the foreseeable future, signage has been covered up.
As we enter the indoor queue sections, we find even more queue markers.
A hand sanitizing station has also been added inside the queue, presumably with people who touch the railings in mind.
Our reporter experienced delays boarding a raft, as they were stopped for cleaning.
Below, you can see a Cast Member handling bottles of the sanitizing liquid that they use to spray down the rafts.
As guests ride, every other pair of seats are left empty for social distancing. On the ride itself, water effects have been turned off to minimize the possible spread of COVID-19, with only the river itself running.
Another hand sanitizing station can be found at the attraction’s exit.
Even with all of these adjustments, there’s still plenty of action to be found at Kali River Rapids!
So let me get this right…a ride that already sucks with absurd wait times turned off the ONLY reason someone MIGHT want to ride? Well, one less thing to do in what will already be a vastly overpriced vacation for the “experience” they’re providing. The rapids aren’t thrilling at all, and it’s the middle of SUMMER, people want to get soaked. How does water spread COVID? Aren’t we encouraged to wash our hands? That uses water. This doesn’t even make any sense, they left the water effects on Splash Mountain turned on, right?
