In the post-pandemic climate, the fewer surfaces that we have to touch, the better. It seems that Yak & Yeti Restaurant, a table-service location owned by Landry in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, caught onto that trend and decided to upgrade their hand dryers available in the restrooms.
The new hand dryers now available are the Dyson Airblade 9KJ. Dyson boasts on the webpage for the dryer that these new models: have a 10-12 second dry time, are equipped with a HEPA filter, and the sleek design leaves more room in restroom spaces and is ADA compliant.
The HEPA filter helps capture airborne particles, something I’m sure all guests can appreciate.
We love that there’s no potential touch required to use these, and our reporter agreed that his hands did seem to dry a bit faster.
We sincerely hope that this change comes to not only all of the Walt Disney World restrooms but to theme parks in general. This seems like a much safer option compared to the old hand dryers that are still being used in the parks currently.
As Walt Disney World has gone to great lengths since the reopening to keeping guests safe post-COVID-19 closure, hopefully, this is another change they can add to the list, along with the social distancing modifications and safety precautions found throughout the parks.
