The Speedway gas stations at Walt Disney World Resort could soon transform into 7-Elevens, thanks to a major new purchase by Japanese-based Seven & i Holdings Co. (Oh, thank heaven!)
According to Bloomberg, 7-Eleven has agreed to purchase Marathon Petroleum Corporation’s Speedway gas stations for $21 billion dollars.
This acquisition will add 3,900 stores to 9,800 locations. The deal is the second-largest purchase of a U.S. target this year. Previously, Seven & i Holdings Co., Ltd. (7-Eleven franchiser) spent $3.3 billion three years ago to also buy Sunoco LP gas stations.
There are three Speedway gas stations on Walt Disney World property: one at Disney Springs, one outside of Magic Kingdom, and one next to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. At this time, no announcement has been made about the future of these gas stations, so whether we’ll be seeing a lot more Slurpees around property is still unknown.

I wonder if they’ll turn them into 7-elevens or keep the Speedway name
Wish the could get with Disney and theme these stations up. Be fun to have unique fuel Stations on property
Once Universal’s rights to The Simpsons expires, they should turn one of these into a Qwik-e-Mart just to shake things up. After all, it’s Disney IP.
