Adorable snacks are an ever-popular trend at Tokyo Disneyland, as the delicious Crystal Palace dessert buffet we visited last week proved. But there was one fairly conspicuous absence – the Mike Wazowski melon bread, a staple of World Bazaar’s Sweetheart Cafe. Sweetheart Cafe, a purveyor of delicious pastries that also include adorable seasonal sandwiches and the love-it-or-hate-it curry bread, is sadly closed right now during Tokyo Disneyland’s recovery from COVID-19. But fear not, because the bakery’s most popular treat has found a new temporary home across the street, and he has a new and adorable souvenir friend you can pick up in addition!

Mike Wazowski Melon Bread Souvenir Case – ÂĄ1200 ($11.25)

Mike Melon Case

This adorable souvenir case is available along with the classic Mike Wazowski melon bread at World Bazaar’s Refreshment Corner in Tokyo Disneyland. It’s quite reminiscent of the Lotso Cookie carrying case we saw for Pixar Playtime earlier this year. Probably not much to carry your bread in, but great for tickets, coins, or other small items. Plus, just look how cute it is! I wouldn’t mind using this as a coin purse, personally.

And of course, we can’t forget to show off the bread itself! If you aren’t familiar with melon bread, it’s a popular Japanese pastry that tastes slightly like a melon. Not necessarily any particular type of melon, it’s hard to compare to an American palate. But it’s quite popular as a sweet in Japan and other parts of east Asia. Being Tokyo Disney Resort, they went one step further and added the special Disney touch to this beloved snack. I know it’s one of my favorite treats at the park!

The Mike Wazowski melon bread souvenir case is available at Refreshment Corner in Tokyo Disneyland’s World Bazaar while supplies last. Hopefully supplies last long enough that tourists can pick these up on their next trip! What are your thoughts on this adorable case? Let us know below or on social media!
