Space 220 has yet to open after numerous delays from prior to the COVID-19 shutdown, only worsened by the pandemic. As of March, the restaurant was due to open in April, then the shutdown happened. With the park reopened, construction continues, and now the exterior of the building is getting some attention.
We saw a new paint scheme applied to the exterior back in February. And now the ground around what will be the entrance of the restaurant near Mission: SPACE has been cleared to make way for landscaping and lighting.
The sleek, astro-inspired color scheme and flourishes are reminiscent of 1960’s space art. And the lighting fixtures outside the entrance seem to fit the aesthetic well.

On the ground, we see flags marking the various elements that will be installed over the next few weeks.
We hope you enjoyed this Space 220 construction update. Are you excited to dine 220 miles above Earth when Space 220 finally opens? Let us know in the comments below.
