Since our last full construction update, we noticed more panels being added to the exterior of TRON Lightcycle / Run. We got a closer look at this paneling and the rest of the attraction during our next visit to Magic Kingdom.
Previously, paneling only covered the park-facing sides of the “Grid” show building.
It’s probable the show building is just going to be a familiar sky blue with no further trappings on this side.
Paneling has only been added to some of this wall so far, but we expect the building to be fully enclosed soon.
Meanwhile, on the gray side of the building, a cherry picker is reaching up to the roof.
This section of track is where guests will enter the “Grid” during the ride.
There’s one more wall of the building that will also need paneling.
This structure is ready to support the installation of the light-up canopy that will cover the exterior portion of the attraction. More supports are being added around the track.
How excited are you for TRON Lightcycle / Run to open? Right now, it’s supposed to debut before Magic Kingdom’s 50th anniversary on October 1, 2021, but it’s unknown if the COVID-19 closures have affected this timeline.
