We’ve been reviewing a lot of new treats from the Halloween Horror Nights Tribute Store, but one more fan favorite offering has arrived to Universal Studios Florida. Pizza Fries are now on the menu at Louie’s Italian Restaurant exclusively for Universal Orlando Annual Passholders.
It’s the battle of the UOAP Pizza Fries! Cafe 4 at Universal’s Islands of Adventure has UOAP Exclusive Margherita Pizza Fries, so we were curious to see which Passholder Pizza Fries would be our favorite.
When mobile ordering, you’ll see these Pizza Fries show up under the “Annual Passholder Item” heading for $10.99. Discounts were not able to be applied to this order and we were told the price is already discounted on the app.
The base of this dish consists of crinkle cut fries with marinara sauce and then generously topped with mozzarella, pepperoni, sausage, and a Parmesan herb seasoning.
They looked a little crispy when they finally arrived, but we weren’t too concerned. It took nearly 40 minutes to get them from the time we sat down and placed our order, but it was a busy Friday and we’re pretty forgiving of the Team Members doing their best to fill Mobile Orders. It sounds like a great system in theory, but it isn’t always efficient. Now, back to those Pizza Fries…
We would have liked a little more cheese, but otherwise, all the ratios were spot on. The pepperoni and seasoning added a lot of flavor, and there’s just enough sauce to get through the entire meal without making your fries soggy. The marinara sauce was more acidic here and had a lot stronger tomato taste than the Margherita Pizza Fries from Cafe 4. These Pizza Fries from Louie’s were good, but didn’t really impress us, unfortunately.
Much like Halloween Horror Nights, I might have enjoyed these just a little more with an alcoholic drink first.
If you’re a Universal Orlando Annual Passholder and have a craving for Pizza Fries, we would suggest a trip over to Cafe 4 over Louie’s Italian Restaurant, but you really can’t go wrong with either option. Grab a drink, take a trip to the Tribute Store, and grab yourself some Pizza Fries on your next visit to Universal Studios Florida!
