UPDATE: As of 2:00 ET (8/22/2020) the attraction began taking Boarding Groups
Since Disney’s Hollywood Studios reopened to the public, it seems Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance has been plagued with issues. Guests haven’t been able to secure Boarding Groups allowing them to experience the popular attraction, a massive lightning bolt hit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge leaving the attraction closed, and when it is running, many important show elements aren’t even operational.
Now, it seems the attraction hasn’t even opened today. We’ve been diligent in checking the status of the boarding groups all morning, and each time the My Disney Experience app is displaying: “Now Boarding Groups: Not Boarding.”
We sincerely hope that this attraction receives the maintenance it deserves and reopens to guests in better shape.

Now that Bob Chapek has had his full salary restored, he needs to stop nickel and diming everything and get these attractions working the way they’re supposed to. They need to stop using park hours to fix stuff…they should be working on these rides off-hours.
Wow, we rode it at about 4:30pm yesterday (Friday 8/21) after getting into the 2pm boarding groups. Everything was fully operational! I guess we were super lucky.
I opened around 2pm ish today 8/22. Made it to group 24 at4:58 and now announced all missions have been delayed
