“The Lion King: Rhythms of the Pride Lands” Performances Suspended Until Further Notice at Disneyland Paris

The fan-favorite musical stage show, “The Lion King: Rhythms of the Pride Lands”, returned to Disneyland Paris on August 15. However, the show has been suspended until further notice after all performances were suddenly cancelled on August 25.

The reason initially given for the cancellations was “technical difficulties”, however this comes on the heels of the cancellation of “Jungle Book Jive” at Walt Disney Studios Park. According to fan site Looopings, two Cast Members have tested positive for COVID-19, as was confirmed by a Disney spokesperson. It is rumored that there may be another outbreak of COVID-19 amongst the performers, but this is still unconfirmed.

The entire Île-de-France region, including Paris and the Disneyland Paris area, have been included in numerous travel warnings given a high number of COVID-19 cases.

There is currently no confirmation on when the show will return.
