UPDATE: Car Removed From Entrance Steps of Disney’s Wilderness Lodge After Accident at Walt Disney World

Earlier this morning, photos of a vehicle looming over the entrance steps of Disney’s Wilderness Lodge went viral on social media after a guest made an early left turn inside the porte-cochère and ended up stuck on the steps.

Since then, however, normalcy has returned to the stunning, Pacific Northwest-themed lodge, as the entrance has been successfully cleared:

At the entrance to the resort, the car has been successfully dislodged from the steps after the incident. Previously, Cast Members had coned off the car and were directing incoming guests to avoid the area. The extent of damage on the car is unknown, but it’s believed no one was harmed in the accident.

You can still see the tire skid marks along the lower steps of the stairs, to the right. Hopefully this area will be repainted and restored soon.

At the base of the steps, Disney’s Magical Express transportation has resumed as guests are dropped off and picked up by the service at the entrance.

We’re glad the incident at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge was a minor one, but remember to always stay alert and keep your eyes on the road at all times—even if you’re at the Most Magical Place on Earth.

  1. People, PLEASE take your brain with you when you vacation. Of all the things you may forget to pack….this is probably the one item you will need the most. Just sayin’.

  2. it does look like it could be a driving opening if they did not look directly on the ground and see the steps. with the road being there and the big opening i can see how someone who is too excited about being there might have a lapse in brain power
