Walt Disney World Resort Hotels No Longer Offering Late Check-Out Until Further Notice

Guests staying at any of the Walt Disney World Resort hotels currently open should keep in mind that late check-outs are not being offered until further notice. Guests inquiring about a late check-out will be offered the option to store luggage with Bell Services.

Official check-out time is 11:00 AM at all Walt Disney World Resort hotels. Previously, guests could request late check-out times (based on availability) in half-hour intervals past 11:00 AM, as late as 2:00 PM.

late check out request chat

In our experience staying at resorts on property throughout the reopening, we’ve had some luck requesting late check-out directly at the Front Desk, but this is the new official policy if you are calling in using your in-room phone or if opting to chat with a Cast Member via the My Disney Experience app. The reason being given for the temporary suspension of late check-out approvals is due to new extensive cleaning protocols necessary in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This, in conjunction with the temporary closure of public shower facilities at resorts, may affect “departure day” plans for many guests looking to make the most of their resort hotel room.

Are your plans affected by the new, no late check-out policy at Walt Disney World Resort hotels? Let us know in the comments.

  1. I checked out yesterday with a late afternoon flight. The front desk told me that they weren’t offering it, but to talk to housekeeping. I did, they were super accommodating, and the $ I gave them for a “tip” was helpful, as was being kind. I left my room at 1:15. Housekeeping just cleaned my room later and adjusted as necessary. My advice, speak to the housekeeping ladies on your floor. They work hard, give them a good tip. I gave 50$ for 9 days.
