Although the New Fantasyland expansion at Tokyo Disneyland is opening on September 28th, there’s one notable absence—the new Mickey’s Magical Music World show set to occupy the Fantasyland Forest Theatre. The show, which features Mickey and his friends as they take a journey through the world of Disney music, will open at an undetermined later date. Fortunately, we can still look at the area around the theater!
Signs are posted along the way for the show. Hopefully it won’t be too long before we finally get to experience it for ourselves!
A digital sign which will likely display showtimes is currently off.
Banners with the letters “FFT” as well as acorns with the motif of comedy/tragedy masks are posted along the route to the theater.
The fake mountains still look a bit rough, but certainly better in the gloomy gray skies than they will when the sky is blue.
Along the path to the theatre, there’s a lovely waterfall feature that also offers a picturesque view of the Beast’s Castle. Guests have already realized this and started taking pictures in the spot.
Huzzah, we’ve arrived at the theatre! It has a lovely woodland cottage aesthetic to it, doesn’t it? This is probably the most mysterious part of the expansion, since it wasn’t visible from the open area when Guests were able to walk through the village during Tomorrowland construction.
The area above the doors again features those acorn comedy/tragedy masks alongside windows with painted tree designs!
Guests were quick to crowd the area and see the theatre for themseles. There’s a small area in front that will presumably hold Guests as they wait for the next show.
The covered semi-circle that surrounds the theatre plaza features posters of theatrical parodies, similar to the queue of Mickey’s PhilharMagic.
The Fantasyland Forest Theatre’s plaza is open now to Guests, but the interior won’t be available until stage shows resume at Tokyo Disney Resort and Mickey’s Magical Music World can finally open! Stay tuned to WDWNT for the latest from the New Fantasyland expansion at Tokyo Disneyland!
