Duffy the Disney Bear’s newest friend ‘Olu Mel is taking over Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort with new merchandise and treats. We had to get the new ‘Olu Mel Cupcake, so keep reading for photos and our review.
This cupcake has a wonderful presentation. The chocolate seashell and hidden Mickeys were nice touches that made for a beautiful cupcake.
Upon cutting inside, the chocolate cake was moist, and fresh. It was good, but ultimately not exemplary.
The coconut filling was mild-tasting. It was soft, creamy, and very good.
The icing was standard, brightly-colored buttercream, soft, well-mixed, and tasty.
The crispy pearls were a nice addition and the edible glitter made for a nice visual.
The white chocolate was rich and creamy.
No part of this cupcake stood out on its own, but it was the sum of its parts that made it delicious. All the flavors worked well together to make a tasty treat, with a presentation that was to die for. We wish there had been more filling, but we were happy with this cupcake.
