560 Baggage Airline Guest Services Employees Laid Off at Walt Disney World; Including Valet, Luggage, and Disney’s Magical Express

While Disney Parks has officially laid off 28,000 Cast Members, third-party employees at Walt Disney World, such as those under the Baggage Airline Guest Services department, have also been affected by the mass layoff, with 560 now unemployed.

According to WDWMagic, the third-party company clarified that these were temporary layoffs which have now been transferred to permanent layoffs. The Baggage Airline Guest Services department involved luggage and valet services for Walt Disney World resort hotels, including Disney’s Magical Express.

The Walt Disney Company restored the salaries of its Senior Executives in late August, when thousands of Cast Members were still on furlough.

We encourage our readers to help Cast Members during this difficult time by making a donation to the Cast Member Pantry. The donation-based organization has an Amazon Wish List as well as Venmo @castmemberpantry. Cast Members can email Cast Member Pantry or contact them via their Facebook page to book a 15-minute “shopping” window.

I always tip the people who give me in person service whenever it is allowed. Those few extra dollars sometime really help these hard working Disney cast and crew personnel. Now, with so many out of work due to the precautions and economic chaos associated with coronavirus ‘flatten the curve’ measures, the little extra money in tips and thank-you $ can go a long way towards helping people we want to help.
