Bloggers Sarah and Tom Bricker Organize Virtual Food Drive, Raising Over $36,000 For Terminated Cast Members

In the wake of mass Cast Member terminations at Walt Disney World and Disneyland, an Orange County couple decided to take action. According to the Orlando Sentinel, bloggers Sarah and Tom Bricker have created a virtual food drive to assist Cast Members. The duo that runs DisneyTouristBlog.com is asking for donations to Second Harvest Food Bank. As of this writing, the effort has raised over $36,000.

The Brickers created a team page on the Second Harvest Food Bank site. Team pages are used to promote the cause and to accept and track donations. Second Harvest’s mission is to create hope and nourish lives through a powerful hunger relief network, while multiplying the generosity of a caring community.

According to the Brickers’ team page, the couple hopes that the Walt Disney World fan community will rally around the cause.

We have decided to offer support to our community in its time of need. We hope you will do the same, and give what you can to Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida as it works to support those who have been hit hard by the economic fallout of this outbreak.

No matter where in the world you reside, we are part of a truly global community as Walt Disney World fans. We hope you’ll join us in giving back to help those in the community during this time of unprecedented need.

Thanks,

Sarah & Tom Bricker

  1. I love the Brickers!! Hopefully someone will do something for Anaheim. I’m so worried that the city of Anaheim is not going to make it past COVID. Especially hotels and small businesses.

  2. If you’re fortunate enough to work for a company that does charitable donation matching, you may be able to double your donation!
