EPCOT has now introduced contactless security scanners at the main entrance of the park. These scanners were already in use at the International Gateway entrance, as well as at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom.

The scanners are created by Evolv, and are said to be “the fastest weapons-screening system on the market.” They are able to scan sixty people every minute and are ten times faster than other security systems.

These contactless scanners are ideal for security amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Going forward, they’ll facilitate the arrival process, making entering theme parks quicker and more efficient.

Evolv scanners have also been installed at Disneyland Resort.
