Disney to Release Mulan On October 6 For On Demand Streaming Outside Of Disney+

When Disney premiered Mulan on Disney+ on September 4th, many believed the $30 premium fee would be problematic for subscribers. Though the movie faced challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic and halfhearted word-of-mouth buzz, experts estimated that about a third of Disney+ subscribers watched the film on its opening weekend. Disney+ hasn’t released the numbers to confirm Mulan sales, but they are taking the next step to expanding its viewership. On October 6, Disney will release Mulan to third-party video on demand streaming services.

Customers may begin pre-ordering the movie today for $29.99 on Vudu, FandangoNow, Amazon Prime Video, and others. The expansion gives those without subscriptions to Disney+ the opportunity to enjoy the movie in their homes. In fact, Fandango and Vudu both offer a $3.00 rebate to anyone pre-ordering Mulan.

Still not convinced to spend the money to watch this film? Disney+ subscribers will have their chance in December when the movie becomes part of the standard Disney+ library.
