Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings Resume at Walt Disney World with New COVID-19 Guidelines

Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings has just announced the return of weddings to Walt Disney World! Of course, new guidelines to keep guests and Cast Members safe include face covering requirements, physical distancing, and limited guest counts.

From the Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings “Ever After” Blog:

We are honored to announce weddings have resumed as part of the phased re-opening at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.

The Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings team has been working diligently with our health and safety team, looking at our experiences in detail so our couples and wedding guests can celebrate in a magical way. With health and safety in mind, we have implemented a combination of new measures that consider the guidance of local government and health officials.

These measures include face coverings, which will be required for all guests and members of the wedding party. During the ceremony, the couple may be able to remove their face coverings for a limited period of time, while proper physical distancing can be maintained.

Our events will also include measures to promote physical distancing among guests and cast members. Upcoming weddings will have limited guest counts, and we are working with our couples to find creative ways to set their ceremonies, receptions and more.

Korri McFann, Marketing Director for Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons shared,

“We are honored to be a part of couples’ romantic milestone moments.  As a team, we’ve worked tirelessly to implement health and safety measures and ensure the most magical experience for our couples. We are so excited to be able to celebrate our couple’s love stories, once again, at the Walt Disney World Resort!”

Over the past few weeks we have had the privilege to do just that! Meet Lauren and Timothy. They recently celebrated their wedding day with an intimate group of family and friends at Disney’s Wedding Pavilion followed by a brunch reception in the Whitehall Room & Patio at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

“The most important aspect of the wedding day was the guest experience. We wanted to share with our guests all the things we love most about Disney. This included creating a custom brunch menu that featured dishes inspired by some of our favorite Disney restaurants like the crab cakes from Flying Fish, fried chicken from ’50s Prime Time Cafe, and the skirt steak from Wine Bar George.  We also included a Mickey waffle bar because no brunch at Disney would be complete without Mickey waffles!”

“While no one imagined a year ago that we would need to wear our best masks on our special day, or that our guests would have to social distance, we were glad to see these rules in place because they were made with the best intentions of keeping everyone safe.”

Paige and Tim also celebrated “I DO” at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa! They shared a romantic first dance and we’re still swooning over their fairy tale day.

“Magical. That’s the word I have been using the most to describe our wedding the most. Our wedding planner really took care of everything for us, and made sure it was PERFECT. Which we were beyond thankful for, given the circumstances and how different the world is at the moment. It was just amazing, we didn’t have to worry about a single thing!”

And, Meagan and Andrew, celebrated with their nearest and dearest! Arriving in Cinderella’s Coach and celebrating at Disney’s California Grill with stunning views of Magic Kingdom.

“I always knew that I wanted to have a Disney Fairy Tale Wedding, and on October 6, 2020, all of those dreams came true! Our wedding was magical and exceeded my dreams. Everything was exactly what I pictured, from Cinderella’s Carriage down to my beautiful aisle runner. My amazing wedding planner took care of absolutely everything and was there to help me throughout the entire process. Our day was super special, but my favorite moment of the entire day besides saying “I Do’, was walking into our beautiful wedding reception at Disney’s California Grill. The view from up there was absolutely breathtaking and everything I hoped it would be for my guests and myself.”

At Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings, we cherish the opportunity to bring couples’ fairy tales to life and create memories that will last a lifetime. It is our privilege to create an environment where we can celebrate our couples’ love stories while delivering on the “Disney Magic” they’ve come to know and love.

  1. While I get Disney needing to stick to their guidelines property wide I can’t believe anybod would pay Disney wedding prices to have to wear a mask for their own wedding day. I’m not trying to be anti-mask, I’m just saying that for the thousands of dollars a Disney wedding costs I would not want to have to wear a mask in all my wedding photos and have physical distancing enforced for my family. I’d rather just wait a few years to be married.

  2. The bride and groom can only remove their masks while maintaining distancing?!? So you can share a bed with a person but Disney won’t let you take off your mask during the whole ceremony? That’s bizarre

  3. This is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen. Who wants their wedding photos with face masks on?!?!? People are trying to FORGET this pandemic, not capture the moment. I can’t understand why people would want that in their vacation photos, let alone their wedding photos.
