Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground Under Phase 2 Closure for Halloween; Non-Guests Will Not Be Allowed Access

Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground will be closing to non-guests on October 31 under Phase 2 closure rules. Therefore, guest not booked to stay overnight will not be permitted to access the resort grounds.

Guests attempting to access the resort will find Cast Members checking MagicBands at bus stops and transportation areas. This is being done to confirm that those attempting to visit the resort are actually staying there. The only exception to the rule are those guests who have reserved pony and horseback riding experiences.

This notice is unfortunate for those who enjoy longstanding traditions at the resort. Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground hosted a variety of Halloween activities that have now been modified due to pandemic safety precautions. For example, the resort hosted trick-or-treating for years, but now it’s been cancelled. This comes as no surprise, since trick-or-treating has been cancelled in many communities throughout the nation.

The popular Halloween Golf Cart Parade will also be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This may sadden guests, but the resort has scheduled a golf cart decoration contest instead. Additionally, socially distanced activities will include pumpkin carving, campsite decoration and guest and pet costume contests.

Though you can’t experience the Halloween Golf Cart Parade this year, check out our video of last year’s event to get into the spirit.
