Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground Announces Modified Halloween Offerings, Including All-New Pumpkin Scavenger Hunt; No Trick or Treating Permitted

Guests with reservations at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground between now and Oct. 31, 2020 are receiving notices informing them of modified Halloween offerings. Due to COVID-19 health and safety guidelines, no trick-or-treating or golf cart parade will be allowed on property this year, however a scavenger hunt, as well as various decorating contests for golf carts, campsites, and pets, will be offered instead.

The spookiest season is still on the way to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and it’s bound to be frightfully fun. We look forward to hosting a variety of activities that will bedazzle and bewitch you.

This year on Halloween, Guests at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground can participate in the golf cart and campsite decorating contests as well as our pet costume contest and pumpkin carving contest, with a few modifications. We are also excited to offer a new spellbinding pumpkin scavenger hunt for ghouls and goblins of all ages as well as the chance to decorate your own mini pumpkin. For those planning to wear a costume, make sure to read our official costume guidelines before brewing up your Halloween best, and remember that a costume mask is never a substitute for a required face covering.

Based on guidance from health authorities, such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), trick-or-treating at the campground is not permitted and activities and gatherings should be limited to those in your travel party. Please also continue to practice physical distancing.

  1. And the COVID police strikes again. CDC guidelines are that just that – guidelines. There is NO actual reason to cancel trick or treating at the Fort. I live in NJ and our own Nazi Govenor has permitted it, so why not at WDW? And don’t tell me this is for “health” reasons. People are allowed to protest in the streets and riot, which I’m sure Disney, in all it’s woke-ness, supports. Just another reason to skip a WDW trip this year. Shameful.

  2. I did not know that people went trick or treating at Fort Wilderness? Like the cabins or tents? People would just walk up to them and trick or treat? I knew about decorating golf carts or their campers.
